iSiloX Beta Does RSS!
Wednesday, December 1, 2004 Woohoo! The latest iSilo (Palm OS) and iSiloX 4.2b1 announcement caught my eye today at lunch. It turns out iSiloX (The desktop converter for Win/Mac/Linux) now supports the conversion of RSS feeds!
I've not had a chance to extensively test the feature, but a cursory check on my own RSS feed seemed to work fine. I did run into one glitch when testing the RSS feed of Russell Beattie, which ends in .jsp or .rss rather than .xml. It also seems feeds ending in .rdf have problems in iSiloX. I'll have to email the iSilo folks to mention this.
I've also heard that Plucker can cope with RSS feeds too, though I have not investigated this, as I'm very happy with iSilo. So, if you enjoy reading RSS feeds and want to take it on the road with your Palm, check out the latest beta version of iSiloX.

Even greater news: iSilo for Symbian UIQ smart-phones !!!
Yee-Ha!!!
:-) Lo
P.S.: First post with Firefox.

Beyond that it's a normal configuration.
From what I've seen though, iSilo doesn't properly handle any RSS feeds that don't end in .xml. I've tried .rdf, .rss and .jsp variations and none seemed to work. I've also noticed that paragraph formatting seems missing on the RSS feeds I have got to work, all of which I'll be reporting to the iSilo people probably next week.
Let me know how the Symbian edition works for you... :-)
