2004 Handheld Users Survey

SurveyAs you may (or may not) know, I'm a member of the Palm OS User Council, an independent group of handheld users whom provide feedback to PalmSource and its OS licensees.

We are hosting the 2004 Handheld Users Survey, which we would love for you to take. It should only take about 5 minutes to complete. You can find the survey here:

http://www.usercouncil.org/2004_survey.html

Our purpose in doing this survey is to help the consumer electronics industry produce improved mobile devices, which better fit our lives. The answers you give in the survey will be provided (anonymously) to various handheld makers, so they can create better products, for us, their customers and users.

Please feel free to give it a go! :-)

Update 2004-01-09
The survey is now closed. It received over 1,000 responses in less than 4 days! Thank you to all who took the time to post their thoughts.

mrpda -- cookies are in place for 2 main reasons:

1) It stops one person from taking the survey more than once (from the same machine) and keeps the survey from getting flooded by one person's repeated visits to the same survey (e.g. survey spamming).

2) It also remembers where you were when taking the survey, in case you happen to lose your net connection or have to take a toilet break and Windows crashes. ;-)

It's a purely functional and reasonable use of cookies, IMO.

Uh oh... Is that a black helicopter I hear somewhere? Be right back... ;-)

Raton -- yes, the survey is closed. We surpassed our goal of 1,000 respondents in just 4 days! :-)

Chuck -- no insider info on OS 6. I'm hoping to maybe see some OS 6 stuff when our group meets at the PalmSource conference in early February, but who knows. Even if I do see something in February, it'll probably be under NDA anyway. Such is life, eh? ;-)
